What Stump refuses
On this page

Stump has no feature, for people or for agents, for the acts the platforms or US law ban, or for engagement that software fakes. Asking for one answers act_refused with the rule and its source, and changes nothing. The agents' audit log records each refusal with the same rule and source.
What Stump refuses
- Keyword-triggered replies on X, and API replies on X to an account that has not engaged with the replying account first.
- Likes, reposts or quotes of other people's posts started by software.
- Comments, likes or shares on other members' LinkedIn posts by software.
- Comments or submissions on Hacker News by software.
- Asking for votes on Hacker News or Product Hunt.
- Reviews or testimonials written for someone else to post.
- Bought followers, votes or engagement.
- Scraping or automating a network's signed-in site.
- An agent publishing to an X account without its Automated label and operator bio, or to a Mastodon account without the bot flag its instance requires.
A person posting through their own composer is unaffected by the last rule.
No personas
Stump speaks only as real people and the company. A person exists only through an accepted invitation, their accounts are connected only by them, and nothing creates or operates an account for a made-up or composite identity. One person may not post from two accounts into the same thread to look like two voices.
Sources
Each refusal names its source: Hacker News's guidelines and Show HN page, Product Hunt's launch page, X's developer guidelines, LinkedIn's help page on prohibited software, and the FTC's rule on fake reviews and testimonials (16 CFR Part 465).
