Disclosure

On this page

A post that mentions the company, its products or a competitor, from someone connected to the company, anywhere but the company's own accounts, says that connection before it moves on.

How it is said

With the venue's disclosure line, one of the person's own disclosure lines, or plain words that make the connection clear, such as "we shipped", "our product" or "I built". A line in a bio or profile never counts.

Where a network hides the end of a post behind "see more", the disclosure sits above the cut.

When it applies

Before the post can be marked ready, scheduled, handed off or recorded as posted. Removing the disclosure returns the post to draft.

Connections

Each person records their connection to the company when they are invited: founder, employee, contractor, investor, advisor, friend or family. Someone outside the company who recommends a product gets talking points and facts only, and says the words are their own.
